where is the silence

“where is the silence where is it hiding”

do you ever feel like everything in your life is noise

everywhere surrounding you drowning you

so you can’t even think or do anything anymore

and all you want is some silence that you can curl up in to be alone and okay

maybe that doesn’t make sense to anyone else

but for me it just clicked when i heard this song by colton dixon

i really connect with it

give it a listen and maybe you’ll think so too

“every day is a car alarm
that I don’t know how to disarm
where is the silence
that simple silence

everything is noise

i’m getting lost in the sound

i need to hear Your voice
reminding me that at the end of the day
no matter what goes down i’ll be okay
even through the noise

whisper my name
whisper my name
tell me that it’s alright

where is the silence
can’t get no silence”

— some lyrics from “noise” by colton dixon

i might disappear from online for a bit

i’ll be back

it’s just that everything is noise

i’m getting lost in it

and i need to find some silence

keep being awesome

  1. This post so resonated with me. Everything DOES start feeling like oppressing noise sometimes, and we have to stop, breathe, and let it all quiet down.

I REALLY like that song. I’ve never heard it before. Thanks for sharing!

Enjoy your silence. I’ll miss you but I’m glad you’re taking some time to rejuvenate. Love you! ❤

    • Well, I’m glad you understand my craziness, anyway. XD It’s just very true for me, so I really liked the song. ^_^ Glad you did too! You should check out more Colton Dixon — he’s amazing. 🙂 Thank you! Love you toooo! ❤

  2. Totally understand. I may disappear for a bit as well… though disappearing online means that more writing is happening, so that’s a good thing 🙂

Saw your question on Anne Elisabeth’s site and I’ll let her answer officially, but I’m guessing the answer is going to be that you will not be automatically disqualified. In Five Glass Slippers, one of the “slippers” is not a shoe at all, but a space-helmet… and Rosara and the Jungle King from Five Enchanted Roses doesn’t have a rose in it (ok, her name is “Rosara” – but no other roses to be seen). So both collections have the precedent of a story where there is no “title” element.

You should totally enter!!!!!!!! Because I would love to read your Sleeping Beauty story… and if you enter and win, then I get to read it in less than a year! 🙂 Which is, of course, the best reason to enter, specifically so I can read your story. Yes. Makes perfect sense… at least… to me……… 😉

    • That’s true! Less online often does = more writing. 😀

Also thanks for your answer! (I now remember one is not supposed to ask Anne Elisabeth directly about contest stuff… Heh.) That’s what I was thinking, about the helmet. 😛

And awww, thank you! Your enthusiasm makes my day! I don’t know if I’ll enter or not — it’ll depend on if I can actually get a story WRITTEN of course — but your comment was so sweet and encouraging! THANKS. ❤

  3. Silence…something we all need to take more time for. It’s easy to get caught up in all that noise. May your silence be full of peace and rejuvenation. ❤
(Also, just have to say, I love Jenelle's answer to the Five Magic Spindles question you had. ;D )
