Fifth of November, NaNo, and a Harp

Remember, Remember the 5th of November.

For many reasons, including, among other things:

  • Gunpowder
  • Treason
  • and
  • Plot.
  • Especially plot.
  • Plot is a good thing to have.
  • Especially during NaNo.
  • (Which is why it is bad that I do not have one…)

And, most importantly, you should remember the 5th of November…

BECAUSE YOU SHOULD BE AT 8333 WORDS.

(If you’re doing NaNo, that is.)

I hit 10k last night (yay!) so that’s an update on my own NaNoWriMo doings…

No promises, considering how busy I am, but I HOPE to get a post up about Heartseeker, which is what I’m writing for NaNo, and a review for Orphan’s Song by Gillian Bronte Adams, which I’m enjoying immensely and just need to find time to finish reading and review! So if all goes well, there should hopefully be a couple posts this month.

Best of luck on your stories to those doing NaNo! And to those who are not, best of luck on your own endeavors, and in trying not to pull out your hair and scream every time somebody says “NaNoWriMo”. 😉

Also, just for fun, here’s a video of me playing (attempting to play?) “Broom of the Cowdenknowes” on a harp. (This is extra cool because I am writing about a story with a harp-playing bard in it for NaNo.)

This video was for a promotional contest, and my excuse for the mistakes is that I only pulled the harp out the night before filming it… So I hadn’t had much practice. Hope you enjoy. 🙂

  1. Yay, you’re ahead of schedule! *hands you cake*
The harp-playing was great (definitely better than I could’ve done). 🙂
Hope you find your elusive plot soon!

  2. You have splendiferous hair, I want it! You play the harp and you sound great. Good luck on Nano I know the stress, sadly not doing it this year 😦 but I can cheer others on. You can do it! 🙂

  3. Then lets make it one of those multi-colored pens, with which you have a choice between four or so colors. 😉 Green can be in there. (Oh the joys of virtual make-believe. XD )

    • I ACTUALLY HAVE REAL COLORED PENS THAT I NEVER REMEMBER TO USE. SO IT’S NOT QUITE ALL MAKE-BELIEVE. XD I have a purple one for real, and I think I have a green one around… I always use black ink though, I don’t know why… I should branch out. 😛

      • XD I have one with four colors (black, green, pink, purple). But normally I use regular black or blue ink. Or a pencil.
(Wow. We’re having a whole discussion on writing utensils. XD )

  4. Congrats on being ahead of schedule! That’s soooo cool! AND HUZZAH AND YAY FOR NANO! I know most non-writers will be sick of us by now, right?! Omg, you are so talented to play the harp. I can’t imagine remember all the strings. o.o I play cello and 4 strings is quite enough for me. *nods*

    • Thanks! ^_^ And you are soooo way ahead of schedule I’m just alksdjlkd over here. XD

Actually, it’s much easier to do harp, because the strings are just like a piano, laid out like that, you know? I’ve never played anything 4 stringed like a cello but they would confuse me because HOW DO YOU KNOW WHAT ORDER THE NOTES ARE IN?? O_o Ahem. Cellos are like some of my favorite sounds so YOU ARE AWESOME. ❤

      Thanks for the comment. ^_^
